A calm horizon at dawn

Domestic Violence Awareness Month · October 💜

Safety. Self-trust. A life of your own.

Domestic abuse can include physical violence, emotional and psychological abuse, sexual abuse, financial control, intimidation, and coercive control. Abuse does not have to leave a visible injury to deserve recognition and support.

When fear and hurt are interspersed with affection, apologies, or promises of change, recognizing the pattern and leaving can be difficult. Staying, loving someone, or struggling to leave does not make the abuse your fault.

You deserve to be heard, treated with respect, and supported in making your own choices.

Day of action

Purple Thursday — October 15, 2026

Also known as Wear Purple Day, Purple Thursday is a day of action during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Wear purple to stand in solidarity with survivors, honor those lost to domestic violence, and raise awareness.

This year's Purple Thursday was observed on October 15, 2026. Thank you to everyone who stood with survivors.

A personal commitment from Janet

I’m a survivor of domestic abuse, including physical, emotional, and psychological abuse. My healing has included recognizing harmful patterns from my upbringing, rebuilding boundaries, and learning to trust my own perceptions again.

Today, I’m in a grounded place—working, creating, building meaningful relationships, and giving back. Seen & Safe brings together my lived experience and training in trauma-informed and somatic coaching to support connection, expression, and rebuilding self-trust.

Alongside this work, I bring more than 14 years of experience in business development, growth, and partnerships, with a commitment to making meaningful support easier to access.
